Beverley Robinson came to Ottawa from Guelph in 1984 to pursue studies at the University of Ottawa, where she received a Bachelor of Music in Performance, and won the University of Ottawa Concerto Competition in back-to-back years.
Beverley’s principal teachers have included Jean-Guy Brault and Robert Cram. She has also worked with Robert Langevin, Jeanne Baxtresser, Trevor Wye and the late Samuel Baron of the Julliard School. |

Beverley maintains a full studio of private students and serves locally as chamber music coach and flute clinician. She has been teaching music theory and has been the woodwind coach for the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy since 1997. Beverley is the Director of the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy Summer Music Program. She has been preparing students for RCM exams, university auditions and music competitions for many years. Many of her students have gone on to successful musical careers in Canada and abroad.
Beverley recently completed her Bachelor of Education and is presently employed as music teacher for the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. |
A performer

Beverley is an active freelance musician, performing frequently throughout the Ottawa area. She has performed as soloist with the Deep River Symphony, and was a member of the Bel Canto Wind Quintet for 25 years. She has often performed on CBC’s Ottawa in Concert. As a freelance musician, she has played in the backup orchestra at the NAC for Ann Murray, Holly Cole, Diana Krall and Il Divo and is frequently a member of the pit orchestra for Orpheus Musical Theatre Society productions.
